Student Council is coordinating a Thanksgiving Food Drive at Stephens to collect canned goods and non-perishable food items to donate to community organizations. The organizations will then put together Thanksgiving food baskets to give out to families in need. We are collecting food starting now until Wednesday November 18th. Feel free to drop off donated items in one of the bins in the front lobby. Here is a list of possible food items you can donate:
Movie Night: Friday October 23rd at 6:30 pm. Children with their families can come to school with blankets and pillows and often in their pajamas to watch Big Hero 6 on the big screen! PTO provides popcorn and drinks! Feel free to bring a healthy snack to share.
BIG PTO Meeting: Police Officer Chad is coming to talk to parents about internet safety, social media, and cyber-bullying. He has a lot of experience teaching children and their families about this topic. Even if your child is only in Kindergarten he has important information to share. Come learn how to keep your child safe as they use the internet. There will be child care! Be at Stephens by 6:30 PM.

Did you know that one in three students in the Madison Metropolitan School District is an English Language Learner (ELL)? We’re fortunate to have such linguistic diversity in Madison, but with this asset comes an important responsibility. We need to work harder to provide all students the tools they need to succeed. We want your input on our English Language Learner Plan.
Need help with the online portion of online enrollment? Bilingual MMSD staff can help you with online enrollment at the times and locations specified below. Visit www.mmsd.org/enroll for more information.
Beginning with the 2014-2015 school year, elementary schools will add an additional 5 minutes to their school day. This allows us to build in 3 snow/cold days per year.
