Glenn Stephens and Covenant Presbyterian Church Team Up

2016-2017 School Year

We are fortunate and happy to announce our school community partnership with Covenant Presbyterian Church. Starting since last school year, members of the church and our school Principal has met many times to discuss our partnership, what it will look like, and how we can work together to support the learning taking place at Glenn Stephens. Last year, Covenant was able to donate healthy snacks to our students once a month. They visited our school and delivered fruits to our students in their classroom. They also came out to volunteer their time and tutor our students or help out in the classroom. They collected school supplies over the summer to donate to students and displayed student art work at their church. Student Council needed someone to build us a bench to go next to our Little Free Library in which a church member was able to help us build and put the bench together.

This year, we hope to be able to continue most of the things we did last year in addition to a few more new ideas. This includes an updated bulletin board at Covenant that shares out daily happenings at Stephens, pen pals with a grade level, collecting books for our classroom librairies, and helping out with our annual Read Your Heart Out event, Science Fair Night, and/or our Allied Drive Family Night. There is also the possibility of getting one common book for each student to have so they can participate in a "One School One Book" event.
